Grandma's quilt

During conference I like to do hand sewing--makes me stay awake better. I put the binding on this quilt that was painted and pieced by my mother. We found the quilt top when we were cleaning out their house this past summer. I don't know why she used gold for the outside border--probably because that is what she had. It is pink checkered on the back. It is so like my Mom to used what was available. I debated about changing the border--but decided against it since it reminds me so much of Mom. My only part on the project was the binding. A friend of mine did the machine quilting.

It makes me kind of sad that I have never learned or took the time to learn how to quilt. It is sad for my grandkids. They will never get beautiful quilts like that from me like I got from grandma and Hannah gets from you!

The gold is so like grandma. I'm glad you kept it that way.

Abby...it is never too late.

Deanna, I love that you kept it how
Grandma made it, she would be so pleased. It is neat to see that quilt all finished.
