Family Church

Behind Mir Castle was the family church.

In the basement was the family burial spot.

Tomb of a princess that died at 12 years of age.

Our tour guide. She took her job pretty seriously. She did smile when we asked if we could take her picture--but they do not smile for the camera.

Original tile floor.

Right after the war, during Soviet Times, this room of the church was used to store army equipment leaving rust spots on the tile floor. They are very proud of the long, hard hours it took to restore the church and were so excited when they were able to restore the original tile floor. It also has one of the original wood stoves.

Does "the family church" mean it is only for one family? It is a beautiful church. It's good they have been able to restore the building.
