A Village Visit

Sergei picked us up for a weekly road trip to open a project in the Minsk Region. He told us not to worry about a lunch so I assumed we would be home early. To our pleasant surprise he brought his family and we stopped to visit his mom in the village he grew up in.

We played with Joseph.

I played games with Valya which included this box game, badminton, and Uno.

She served us Belarusian pancakes with her homemade currant jelly and sour cream. So Delicious!! Max really enjoy these and ate so many he wasn't very hungry for lunch.

She served us lunch of cold beet soup, pork with cheese, Cole slaw and bread--again very delicious. Then we took a tour of his farm and garden.

They raise their own chicken. One hen had a little family of eight chicks.
On his farm he grows potatoes, carrots, onions, and cabbage.
In his garden he raises tomatoes, cucumbers, all sorts of berries, apple and pear trees, dill, onions, parsley and strawberries.

Hess's said Sergi was such good help to them also. I assume it is the same Sergi. They say to say hi.
