Backyard Beauty

These pictures, taken out our back door, just show a person doesn't have to go far to find spectacular views and color.

Updated??

Due to the lack of me forgetting to get out my camera the only change I have made is the arrangement and color of my blog. It's not that we haven't been doing a few interesting things such as going to the football game with Chad's family and visiting with Rodney and Nina last night--I just haven't brought the camera out. So enjoy the set layout!!

Temple Night

Our ward has a temple night 0nce a month then afterwards they go to someone's home for a small dinner. We invited them to our home this month and served soup (4 different kinds from 4 different people) and rolls made by Sheila W. It was nice to sit around and visit after dinner. We have neat people in this ward. We're going to miss them!!

Our Beautiful Part of the World

We stopped and had lunch at the Angus Cafe established in 1969.

This must be the orginal sign--looks pretty old!!

We took a ride up to Driggs to deliver some blankets to Brenda and see the autumn colors. Beautiful ride and fun visit.

Horse Back Riding

The Wade girls came over while they were out of school for "spud harvest" to ride horses. I thought I was taking this on video, but she is trotting around the arena with no hands. And to make matters worse, her face is right behind the fence post. I need practice on my shots!

I did get Preslee and Olivia on video. Ignore the background coaching. I was on the porch listening for Dawson and they were in the arena so I had to yell a little loud.

And this is what Dawson was doing. Isn't he sweet.

Russian????

While we were in Provo we stopped by the MTC to get the language material they want us to study to learn the Russian Language. Needless to say I'm feeling a little over-whelmed. It all looks "greek" to me!

I guess we'll need to rely on this!!

Surprise Phone Call

Ryan our son-in-law has been in Elder and Sister Bednar's home with his job. He called them to share the news of our mission call. Then Susan Bednar called me to congratulate us on our call to Russia. Her and Elder Bednar had visited there last November and just loved the people. She did say it was cold there in November. We visited about our children and how they were doing. She has a son that graduated from BYU the same time Mandy and Adam did and she also has a son Abby's age. We had such a nice visit--it was very kind of her to take the time to call. I have always been impressed with her since the time she came to me in McDonalds a day after a reception at the college where she had met hundreds of people and asked me to remind her what my name was, that she remembers meeting me and apologized for not remembering my name. I was impressed she even remembered my face. She was there eating with her son and I was there eating with Abby. We've crossed paths several time as her husband served as President of the college and again at the temple open house after he was called to be a General Authority.

Dinner Anyone?

We ate here last night for two reasons:
1. Dad's turn to cook
2. Someone was busy in the house

I think the picture turned out pretty neat. I love my camera!!

3 dresses

Mary Anne gave me the material to make these three jumpers. So again as I'm trying to get all undone project finished before leaving for Russia I took the time to sew them. I had made one for Lauren a few years ago. Kate wears it now. These were made for Olivia, Hannah, and Makayla. I need another one for Chad's girls but they are too big for this particular pattern. Maybe one day I'll get them all together and take a picture--with models inside.
(PS..Did you get my pune on the title for the post--my weak attempt at being clever!!)

Fun, fun visit

We had such fun visiting with Ryan and Angie and their two cute kids. While the gus went to the football game--we stayed at home and played with the kids. Then Saturday while the guys were at the priesthood meeting, we took the kids to my favorite store in Logan--Shopko. Then we all met for dinner at Olive Garden. It was just fun to spend some extra time with them.

Mission Call

This is a little anti-climatic since every one that reads my blog already knows--but I thought I would still put the video on. Actually we are still in a little bit of shock here. Lots more questions than answers. But we do know now When and Where!!

Another Humanitarian Project

Isn't it interesting how all the colors are red and then they threw in that blue flowered color print. I don't plan anything--just grab a square and sew it in the quilt top. No mission call yet so a grabbed two more project from the DI this morning. Always needing something to keep me busy!!

Welcome Home

I think Max missed me while I was gone. When I came home he had all the laundry done, house clean, and a dozen roses sitting on the table. Pretty nice welcome home gift!!

Balls, balls, and more balls

Finished all the stuffed balls for a Humanitarian Project. It was a team effort. I sewed a bunch of them together. Travis' scout group and his little girls stuffed them. And then I hand stitched the openings. I wished a would of counted how many there were--but they filled a large garbage bag full.
