Busy, busy week

This past week I've been tending my daughter's children while her and her husband went to Chicago. I had such fun--but they are definatedly a busy, busy family. I couldn't of done it without the help of my other daughter (Abby). She combed the girls hair, helped get them all into bed, and did a lot of the running. It was just fun to spend extra time with her and her little girl. Sad to say I didn't get many pictures. I don't know how busy mom's do it all. The last night I was there we had a popcorn party in the basement. I took a few shots of the kids watching a movie and just relaxing!!

Read and Share

The Read and Share Book Club had their opening social at Godfrey's Cabin up by girls camp. I told them I wasn't going to join this year because we're leaving on our mission, but the insisted I come to the opening social. It was a nice afternoon with nice ladies and good food. I was glad I went. This year they are all going to read, "A Farewell to Arms." Have any of you read it? Is it good?

Fun Grandma Time

I was able to have Travis and Melissa's kids for a few hours yesterday. They are fun to have come over. Alex was making a map about Cowville with town such as: Moo York and Dairyburg. It was pretty cute. Preslee and Olivia love to play in our little house and comb Grandma's hair. Dawson is growing so fast.

My morning walk

This morning when I took my walk the moon was still in the sky (7:00 am). Decided to take a picture and since I had my camera I took some other interesting shots. And people say living in the country is boring!!!

Max's horse--Magic

Those are geese all standing in the line. Not sure what they are doing.

Max going to the temple. He is working for someone that called him late last night.

Apron Mania

OK--maybe three apron does not add up to mania!! The one in the middle and on the left were made from kitchen towels. I got the pattern from a blog Mandy told me about. They are very simple to make. I had these aprons in my gift drawer so I didn't even have to buy any. The one on the right it from a kit.

This is a quilt I pieced for a humantarian project. I picked up the blocks all cut out from DI and then sewed them together. It is amazying how much time it takes to sew straight lines. There was some wild samples of material--all had some sort of green in them. Makes for a very interesting patchwork quilt.

Quilts

I made this quilt for Dawson, our newest grandson. It was made using minkee fabric which I found very hard to sew on. I don't think I'll try making another one with that kind of material any time soon.

I inherited the material on the back of this quilt from my mom's sewing room when we cleared out my parent's home. Made the top out of scraps I had at my home. This is another quilt I made for Dawson.

Bowling

Our bowling leaque has started for the year. I'm planning on bowling right up until we leave for our mission. I have the same team members--Susan and Laleene. I enjoy each week visiting with them--even if my bowling sometimes isn't anything to brag about. I said sometimes because last week I bowled a 190 and this week my highest was 140. I am not very consistent--good thing I have fun.

Guess I should let go of the ball.

Cool Crayon Caddy

I took Preslee with me to run some errands yesterday and we found the neatest crayon holder. By lifting the center it will form a three layer carousel with all the colors imaginable. I can hardly wait for the grand kids to come and try it. Preslee's mom picked her up just a few minutes after we arrived home so she didn't even get a chance to give it a try. I have always loved crayons--so of course it was a "cool" find I just couldn't pass.

Kate gets so excited and is ready for any adventure. She is the first one to try anything new. She also doesn't stay in one place very long because I couldn't find many pictures of her alone. We love our fun, loving, little cutie pie. Here's to Kate!!! Love, Grandma
